Robert Duncan, Jack Spicer, Poets

Philip K. Dick, Robert Duncan, and Jack Spicer all became national literary icons. Thirteen of Dick’s novels have now been published in three volumes in the Library of America Series. The Collected Writings of Robert Duncan began appearing in 2011 with the publication of volume one, The H.D. Book. My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poetry of Jack Spicer was published by Wesleyan University Press in November 2008, and won the American Book Award in 2009.

The building occupied by these writers, originally used by Hink’s Department Store, was demolished in 1979 and a ranch house was moved to the site from Fourth Street.
